FIFA 23: Will Messi drop to 91 ratings? Lewandowski on top?

New leaks report Lionel Messi's massive rating downgrade in FIFA 23, which in turn suggests that Robert Lewandowski is climbing to the top.

We had recently speculated whether Lionel Messi would lose the top rating in FIFA 23 and thus also in FUT 23. While we had forecast a downgrade from 93 to 92 points, EA SPORTS is apparently going one step further: According to 'FUTZone', the Argentinian should only have 91 points as an overall rating after his mixed first season at Paris Saint-Germain in FIFA 23. In FIFA 22, Robert Lewandowski was second behind Messi with 92 ratings. After 49 competitive goals in 46 games last season, a downgrade for the Barcelona newcomer would be rather surprising.

Conversely, stagnation at 92 would mean that Lewandowski would probably secure the top rating in FIFA 23 and FUT 23 - as the leak from 'FUTZone' is true. It would be possible to share first place with Kylian Mbappé or Kevin De Bruyne, for example, who had once again impressed in the past few months and could be increased from 91 to 92 points. Cristiano Ronaldo should not be a candidate for a return to the place in the sun. The Portuguese had already been downgraded to 91 points in FIFA 22, and another downgrade to a new overall rating of 90 is to take place in FIFA 23.

Salah could overtake CR7, Haaland's next upgrade?

So he should be overtaken by Mohamed Salah, who 'FUTZone' certifies an upgrade from 89 to 91 points. Liverpool's Egyptian was the Premier League's top scorer for the third time last season. Erling Haaland, who switched from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City in the summer, should also be upgraded.
